Olympic Swimming and the Revenge of the Lumberjack

Hi Pupsters -

Well, another beautiful day in the big city. Got to love this puptastic summer.

The weekend was also another great time. MORE SWIMMING IN THE RIVER. Yes, even though the river level has subsided at bit, I have been swimming up a storm! I am an expert retriever. Dad, when are they going to offer dog swimming in the Olympics? I think I have a promising future.

...And speaking of promising future - well - file this one in the "perhaps you should keep your day job". Our neighbor up in North Conway decided to take down a couple of trees in front of unit that were blocking his view of the Ellis River. Apparently, Dad had a couple of big trees taken down in front of our place that were touching the roof a few years ago. However, dad got on the "tree" kick and decided to climb down the 100 foot drop and start CUTTING DOWN anything in the path of his view! Big trees, small trees, brush, YOU NAME IT!

Now, you have imagine the outfit Dad had on for this work. There were no flannel shirts involved, but it was a scary sight nonetheless. Picture dad in a long sleeve tshirt, old Levis, his hiking boots, and an OLD PAIR OF SKI GLOVES. Not exactly a fashion statement but he did successfully keep the poison ivy at bay!

Meanwhile, back in the safety of the house, I could tell Mom was getting annoyed from the several hours spent on this "project" instead of playing golf with her! Somehow these home improvement projects are ALWAYS more involved than Dad thinks!

I am happy to report that there were no calamities from the lumberjack excursion. Dad did report he found a few BEAR DENS that were thankfully vacant during these summer months! Crazy eh? Dad did play golf with Mom on both Saturday and Sunday - and we all enjoyed a tree free view of the Ellis River during dinner!

After popping a few aleves, dad seemed no worse for the wear. However, I am not sure dad's core skill set includes this type of work.

Ok - enough making fun of the lumberjack...er, I mean dad! I am off to play!

PTTPs!

Logan

PS The picture below is the view BEFORE those trees came down! TIMBER!
