Hi Logan,
Reading your blog and all that talk of golf. Think you need to visit England. I play golf with Simon over here when he looks after me and the club even put a bowl out for me. I suggest you launch a pup campaign for admission to your Dad’s golf course!!
Keep up the blogs

Oh Tomato, I Hardly Knew Ye!
Happy Monday Pupsters -
Just back from another great weekend in the White Mountains! Fresh air, cool rivers, and one slight minor calamity....
We all know that Mom has been hard at work using her green thumbs planting, watering, fertilizing, and loving a plethora of garden items. However, it has been the tomato plants, grown in large terracotta pots, that have been her pride and joy of Summer 2008.
On Saturday, Dad was moving things around the patio, trying to get everything a bit more sunlight. Unbeknowst to him, a couple of the HEAVY STEAMS of the cherry tomato plants COLLAPSED. Dad had no idea about this till Mom (aka Mrs. GreenThumbs) shrieked in HORROR! Oh No! My Dad was a now tomato KILLER!
After some minor surgery and the removal of some green tomatoes, we are all optimistic that the cherry tomato plant may live. The other tomato plant continues to grow like crazy and we are just a few weeks away from enjoying our our salmonella free jalapenos. We brought the orphaned cherry tomatoes home and have placed them on the window sill in hopes that they might turn red!
Once the code black crisis was over, we all enjoyed a pup weekend. You know the drill -pup walks, golf for mom and dad, chicken kabobs on the grill, Mom's famous smores made on the fire pit! Got to love summer!
Hope everyone has a great week!

A New Cousin
Hey Pupsters -
Well, stop the presses! Logan has a new cousin! Yes, Uncle Brian and Aunt Christie had a baby boy this week - Ellis Ashley Jones! How about that? Not only do I love playing in the Ellis River behind the ski house, but now I have a new pup friend named Ellis!
As many of you know, my dad's grandfather was named Ellis, who was known for wearing quite the pup trousers - something that my own dad seems to have picked up lately.
So pups out to my new cousin Ellis - and his pup parents! I can't wait to meet him. Maybe he will come up to New Hampshire to go to Story Land, and I can show him the Ellis River!

Logan

I Hate Sundays!
Hi Pupsters-
So, I am sitting inside the ski house as the rain comes down across the Mt Washington Valley. I am waiting for Mom and Dad to break out the rainy day pup activities, but so far Mom is watching golf (what's pup with Greg Norman) and Dad is making the bed! What fun is that?
This week I had my annual check up at Mass Medical Center. I have a new vet, Dr. Estabrook, as Dr Scanlan moved away. She was very nice. I am now 45 pounds of pup, and completely healthy with the exception of an ear infection. I guess all that river time clogged up my ears. Fear not. Dad has been cleaning them daily - and I have some special stuff that goes it there as well. It's not my favorite thing, but they feel much better!
Yesterday I went to play group at Four Your Paws Only. But what did I find out????? In the summer, they have PUP SPLASH TIME! Yes, pup pools for me and all my pals! I made a new friend. His name is Telly (short for Telluride - pretty pup eh!) He and I were pool mates. I had a blast. And as you can see from my photo, I didn't want to get out when Dad said it was time to go home!
After play time, we came back to the house - and Mom and Dad went out to play some golf. I enjoyed relaxing in the pupcondition. Phew, it was HUMID out!
After cooking hamburgers for dinner, Mom and Dad took me for a walk around the golf course. AND WHAT DID I SEE? A HUGE RAINBOW! It's the first one I have ever seen! PUPTASTIC.
Now it's Sunday morning, and I hate it! I hate knowing that in a few hours we have to pack up the car and head back home. The rain even makes it worse!
Hopefully it will be a short week, and I'll be back for more splash time next weekend.
Hope all the pups are well.

Olympic Swimming and the Revenge of the Lumberjack
Hi Pupsters -
Well, another beautiful day in the big city. Got to love this puptastic summer.
The weekend was also another great time. MORE SWIMMING IN THE RIVER. Yes, even though the river level has subsided at bit, I have been swimming up a storm! I am an expert retriever. Dad, when are they going to offer dog swimming in the Olympics? I think I have a promising future.
...And speaking of promising future - well - file this one in the "perhaps you should keep your day job". Our neighbor up in North Conway decided to take down a couple of trees in front of unit that were blocking his view of the Ellis River. Apparently, Dad had a couple of big trees taken down in front of our place that were touching the roof a few years ago. However, dad got on the "tree" kick and decided to climb down the 100 foot drop and start CUTTING DOWN anything in the path of his view! Big trees, small trees, brush, YOU NAME IT!
Now, you have imagine the outfit Dad had on for this work. There were no flannel shirts involved, but it was a scary sight nonetheless. Picture dad in a long sleeve tshirt, old Levis, his hiking boots, and an OLD PAIR OF SKI GLOVES. Not exactly a fashion statement but he did successfully keep the poison ivy at bay!
Meanwhile, back in the safety of the house, I could tell Mom was getting annoyed from the several hours spent on this "project" instead of playing golf with her! Somehow these home improvement projects are ALWAYS more involved than Dad thinks!
I am happy to report that there were no calamities from the lumberjack excursion. Dad did report he found a few BEAR DENS that were thankfully vacant during these summer months! Crazy eh? Dad did play golf with Mom on both Saturday and Sunday - and we all enjoyed a tree free view of the Ellis River during dinner!
After popping a few aleves, dad seemed no worse for the wear. However, I am not sure dad's core skill set includes this type of work.
Ok - enough making fun of the lumberjack...er, I mean dad! I am off to play!

Oh Logan Where Have Thou Been?
Hi Pupsters -
Yes, yes, yes, your pupster is still here and I know I have been a pup behind on my blog. So let me do my best to get everyone back up to Pup!
We spent several days up at the ski house (can you call it a ski house in the middle of the summer? ) where I just a had pup time. Lots of play time, walks, and even SWIMMING in the Ellis River. Yes, pups, that's right. I am a puptastic swimmer! I just LOVED swimming up river, down river, side ride (hehehe). I am a great retriever of the orange chuck-it squirrel even if my mom would throw it in the wrong direction! I hope I can go down to the river again this weekend.
And speaking of my mom, her green thumb continues as her tomato plants are TALLer than she is! We should be dining on some juicy red ones in no time!
Mom and Dad went to see the fireworks with some friends that they ski with in the winter time. There were too many people there for this pup to attend, but I did get to watch a few fireworks from the back yard as someone was shooting them off of Glen Ledge. To help me get in the 4th of July spirit, Mom picked me a pupstastic flag bandana. I must say I looked smashing!
Back in Beantown, I been out with my pup friends and Jordan. Everyone missed me on the pup bus while I was on vacation! It was great to be back.
I received an email from my buddy Simon (dad's classmate in England.) He sent us a picture of his son sporting the Red Sox hat they bought when they were here last November. PUPTASTIC I say! Just like my SOX!
Other than that, not much is new. I am just enjoying these DOG days of summer.

My Mom Thinks I am a Metrosexual
Hi Pupsters -
Happy 4th of July week! Hope everyone is ready for a little puplaxation! I know I am ready to play in the river and go on a few hikes!
As many of you know, when I play, I get DIRTY. My white paws and belly can get a tad nasty if you know what I mean. So, each Sunday, dad and I climb in the shower for a quick bath. Ah yes, a little organic shampoo and presto! I am nice and clean again.
Usually when I get out of the shower, I like to run around the house like a crazy pup - trying to dry myself. I'll rub up against furniture, the comforter on the bed, anything that might help me dry - along with a couple a shakes!
Then, I like to follow mom into the bathroom after she has had a bath, and sit at her feet till she gets out the hairdryer! She always seem to laugh when I do this, but she usually dries my hair after she does her. In fact, she told my dad that she thinks I am a METROSEXUAL DOG! I am not even sure what this means, so I had to do a bit of pup surfing on the computer.
Does it make me a metrosexual that I like to have my hair dried? Is it so bad that I like to look like the handsome show dog that I am (or at least that I come from?) Is having a little product in your hair a bad thing???????? Metrosexual????? Please! I can get dirty with the best of them - but I LOVE getting clean!
And speaking of clean, check out my brother Derek. I received an email from Lisa telling me he earned his first specialty win at Garden State! How bout them pups??????! I bet Derek likes getting a bath as well!
At any rate, I am off to get my pup dried....Hehehe...just kidding.
Happy 4th of July.
